These protocols describe recommended laboratory storage conditions for lyophilized peptide reference materials distributed by The Clean Edge Lab. They are guidance for qualified research personnel only.
Receipt & inspection
- Inspect packaging for tampering, broken seals, or temperature-indicator damage.
- Verify that the lot number on the vial matches the lot number on the COA.
- Transfer to designated cold storage within 24 hours of delivery.
Recommended storage
| State | Temperature | Typical stability* |
|---|---|---|
| Lyophilized, sealed | −20 °C, desiccated, dark | 24 months |
| Lyophilized, short-term | 2–8 °C, desiccated | 30 days |
| Reconstituted (aqueous) | 2–8 °C | 7–14 days |
| Reconstituted (aliquoted) | −80 °C, single-use | 3 months |
* Indicative only. Actual stability is peptide-dependent and must be determined by the end user under their own conditions.
Reconstitution guidance
- Allow sealed vials to equilibrate to room temperature before opening to prevent moisture condensation on the lyophilized cake.
- Use bacteriostatic or sterile water for laboratory dissolution where appropriate.
- Swirl gently — do not vortex aggressively.
- Aliquot immediately to minimize freeze-thaw cycles. Avoid more than 3 freeze-thaw events.
This guidance addresses chemical and physical stability only. It is not a representation of safety, sterility, or suitability for any in-vivo, clinical, or human use.
Disposal
Dispose of expired material and contaminated consumables in accordance with your institution's hazardous-waste procedures and local regulations.
